Summer 2002, and it was about time for another tour: My beloved companion opted for Turkey, but since I'd been there before, we decided to not just travel Turkey but also places beyond. So we took the plane to Istanbul and traveled by bus and train and more towards Georgia and Armenia. See the map below for the route. Enjoy the following travelogue and don't hesitate to contact me when there's a mistake.

Please note that prices, addresses and other detailed information are as of 2002. Things change rapidly - especially in this area. It's also worth checking the political and security situation before heading off.

Among others, these pages are dedicated to Vano from Kazbegi (see the Kazbegi section) - it was a great pleasure meeting him and I was deeply impressed by him and his family.
